Holiday 2017 Fashion Favorites
The smell of cinnamon. When I start burning that candle or simmering my loose "recipe" concoction of sweet holiday-esque spices passed down from generation to generation, I know it's finally Christmas time! If you know me, you know I love candles - especially the Christmasy marshmallow fireside, vanilla sugar cookie, pine, and spiced apple cider - and I LOVE pulling out those candles as soon as fall starts showing it's colors. What's your favorite kick-off to Christmas? Everyone has that one thing that signals the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year. I'm not a fan of the cold, and I shiver at anything below 60-65 degrees. The only thing that keeps me happy through the dreaded temperature change is the influx of amaaaaaazing fall and winter wardrobe options. It's literally the only thing that gets me through the freezing temps and often dreary weather. Fall clothes are arguably the cutest collections across the board. The main difference between fall and winter wardrobes are the additions of specialty fabrics, glitter, and the excuse to add over-the-top statement pieces to your collection. (But, girl, you know I don't need an excuse... I'm extra just going to the grocery store... ;) ) We have holiday parties, NYE cocktail events, and finally tons of reasons to wear all of those special pieces that never see the light of day tucked into the veryyyy back of closets around the world. A HUGE trend for fall is metallics. High-shine, matte, brushed... no matter the finish, metallics are taking over wardrobes across the country. I’ve really become a big fan of rose gold over the last few years (I know, I know..... along with every other girl in America. Stop judging me. 😜), but I’ve been obsessing with mixed metals and updating them year after year. Pair an adorable metallic top with your favorite jeans, heels and a clutch and voila! If you’re like me, I leave tons of gorgeous cocktails on the rack afraid that I will have nowhere to wear them.
