Product Review: Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel

I was SO excited when I opened my mailbox to find the Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel. I've heard so many great things about this luxury line, and I'm thrilled that they chose me to try it out & give you guys the scoop on this. If you do a little research, you'll quickly find just how great of an impact Dr. Erno Laszlo had on the skincare and beauty industry. He's responsible for he stunning skin on so many classic Hollywood stars - everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Jackie O. and Marilyn Monroe to Greta Garbo. One of my favorite finds was this quote from Audrey Hepburn, “I owe 50% of my beauty to my mother and the other 50% to Erno Laszlo." So.... knowing all of that - you have to know that EL products are top-of-the-line when it comes to the skincare industries. Honestly, I was a little worried at first about trying this product. I didn't know what to expect, and the name made it sound like I would need a day or two (or maybe even more..) of downtime and maybe suffer with some redness, dryness, peeling, etc. as the product does the job & encourages sloughing off of a layer or two of dead skin cells. Unfortunately, I tested positive for strep a few days ago and have been homebound, so I decided this was the perfect time to try it out. I knew I wouldn't be wearing makeup for a couple of days and definitely wouldn't be out and about in public, so I felt like I was safe. Well, y'all.... All that worrying wasn't necessary. ZERO downtime, ZERO redness, ZERO peeling. I had very, very mild irritation in some of the more tender areas (I have super sensitive skin that will break out in hives and start itching if you just look at it the wrong way! haha!), but most probably wouldn't notice anything different. When I say irritation, it wasn't painful whatsoever - just a little discomfort. I was a little more aggressive than I probably needed to be (more about that in the steps below), but I LOVED my instant results and continue to see benefits after just one use. I'm a skeptic when it comes to a lot of drugstore skincare regimens and even some from more reputable department store brands. I often feel as though I'm not really seeing results even after trying it for an extended period of time. With this Dual-Phase VitC Peel, I have never been so thrilled with an at-home skincare product/service! This is definitely the closest I've ever gotten to a salon-quality treatment at home. My skin felt incredibly smooth, nourished, and plump. I was glowing, and my skin felt great! Days later, I'm still reaping those benefits. I have always had some mild discoloration on the hollows of my cheeks, and I doubted the "lighter & brighter" claim on the back of the box. Boy, was I wrong! My skin looked and felt as though I just walked out of a high-end salon facial service. I can definitely say that this product has found a permanent home on my vanity, and I will be using this regularly. Now, this won't completely take place of my regular facial and skincare services from ēlia, but it will be a great addition to my regimen and allow the professional services to work even better!

The benefits don't just end at healthy, beautiful skin. Your existing skincare products will work better because they're able to penetrate deeper into your skin. Your toners, serums andmoisturizers won't do much for your dead skin cells, and it's impossible to see the benefits with a layer of dry, flaky skin blocking these potions from working their magic. Your makeup will go on smoother, more even, and stay on longer. Basically, this peel is like buying insurance for your face & your makeup is the deductible. Let's not waste it. Make the most of it by prepping your skin in the absolute best way possible, which is only possible with a great skincare routine! Let's talk about my experience from start to finish. I thought the instructions were a little vague, so I sought some help online from other beauty bloggers that have used it... It just so happens that they're not vague. They're just SO easy! Here's what went down: Step 1: Apply the C-Peel on your freshly cleansed face - avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for up to 3 minutes. This is definitely a heavy-duty scrub, so you may need to start with a minute or so and gradually increase your massage time with each use. This is where I think I caused a little of the irritation I had following the service. Next time I'll probably shoot for 1-1.5 minutes and build up from there. I love the citrus-y orange scent and the viscosity of the c-peel - this allows for smooth, even application every time. Step 2: Apply the activating serum. You'll feel a little warmth from the lactic acid in the serum - this is totally normal. Let sit for 1 minute. Step 3: Rinse with warm water. Pat dry. Follow up with your favorite serum, facial oil and moisturizer! Have you tried this product? Let me know what you think! Tag @JillBrooksBeauty in your posts for free Halloween goodies from JBB.
