Probably one of the most common follow-up questions when sharing my experience and journey through the beauty industry is, "What kind of foundation do you wear/recommend/l, etc.?"

Foundation selection is tricky. Depending upon your skin type, texture, age, desired look, there are hundreds of foundation options on the market these days. For a custom foundation match, contact me to set up a one-on-one session - available in person, by phone or via Skype.

For a more sheer finish to your foundation, mix 2 parts liquid foundation to 1 part moisturizer for a beautiful tinted moisturizer. You can customize the ratio to give you your perfect coverage. Just remember - the more moisturizer you add, the less opacity you'll have. ProTip: If you have oily skin, use a lightweight cream moisturizer or a gel moisturizer (try BELIF The True Cream Aqua Bomb, Sephora exclusive, $38) For normal skin, any daytime moisturizer would work (try Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream by Peter Thomas Roth, $52) For dry skin, use a cream moisturizer or night creme (try Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex,$45)

For a heavier coverage (or if you run out of concealer!), add a touch of loose powder to your liquid foundation. A little powder goes a long way, so mix in slowly & start small. This is also super helpful if your liquid foundation is a little too light - add a powder that is a few shades darker & voila! You have a custom blended foundation!

When it comes to choosing the finish of a foundation (matte, dewy, radiant), I always like to purchase a formula that doesn't restrict me. Purchasing a matte finish allows you to wear your foundation several ways without the expense of having 3-4 bottles laying around. For a dewy finish, add 1 part liquid to 3 parts liquid foundation. For a radiant finish, add a touch of ivory/beige shimmer shadow to your foundation & mix well before applying.
Oil problems? I know they're a hassle, but oily skin stays wrinkle-free longer - so embrace your skin! If you're like me and have an oily shine after a few hours, try buffing on a thin layer of corn starch after priming & before applying your foundation.
