I'm a tough sell when it comes to lip products. I have old favorites & simply not easily swayed, so when Bite Beauty sent me a lip kit with The Lip Pencil in 020 and 044 & Amuse Bouche Lipstick in honeycomb and whiskey - I was a skeptic. Nudes are always my go-to for lip colors, so I started with the 020/honeycomb combo & was instantly impressed. The pencil glides on smooth and pigmented with a creamy, but medium coverage texture that's not too waxy or too drying. It's a neutral to warm-toned beige and perfect for skintones across the spectrum. The coloration and texture is so perfect that it could be worn alone with a touch of gloss and a dab of highlighter on the center of the lips, but for an ultra-pouty lip, layering the honeycomb lipstick on top is a flawless combination. It's moisturizing, opaque and incredibly flattering. Honestly, I've never gotten so many compliments when it comes to a lip color, and this combo will definitely be at the top of my go-to lippies.
Next up, the 044/whiskey pairing is quite a contrast to the first. This rich mahogany color with a deep red undertone is a stunning addition to any lipstick lover's repertoire. Again, the formulation is creamy and opaque with a satin finish & completely lacks the dreaded drying or waxy feel, but this coloration is bold and not for the faint at heart. Whiskey isn't quite as forgiving or versatile as the first, but definitely a stunner and perfect for a night out uptown or a simple 'winged-liner & dramatic lip' statement look.
